After offering Zenthai Shiatsu Elements workshops at events in QLD and the Northern Rivers, Nicholas Gilchrist brings his unique approach to embodiment work to Dancehouse Melbourne. 

ABOUT

Working with presence and curiosity through the modalities of zenthai shiatsu, qi gong, exploratory movement and authentic connection, participants will engage with new ways of experiencing their body, as well as having the opportunity to deepen their practice through the art of healing touch. 

This workshop will offer a peak into the world of Zenthai Shiatsu with its connection to Traditional Chinese Medicine, by fusing some of the teachings into his own embodied approach. The practices that will be explored are intended to inspire a deepened respect for the body with an aim to reconnect to true felt presence. Nicholas endeavours to create a space where people can express themselves and witness others in a more real way. This can be beneficial as it is largely absent in our day to day experience. 

There will be enquiry through various practices which move from light hearted play to deeper, felt journeying; cultivating an ability to navigate these terrains with awareness and intelligence. 

WHO IS IT FOR?

This workshop can benefit absolute beginners in movement and bodywork practices as well as practicing Zenthai Therapists. It is said with trust that whomever feels called to enter this container is here to collaborate in the work.

SAFETY

Nicholas is experienced in creating spaces where individuals feel comfortable expressing anything that may come up. As this work is quite hands on, in the way of physical touch, it’s important to maintain that safety and consent is hugely important, and while this will be managed within the space, it is necessary that participating individuals monitor their own needs and boundaries. 

You won't have to get hands on with anyone you don't want to touch or be touched by, and you won't have to justify or explain yourself in this regard.
