RETURNING TO OUR SENSES,
RETURNING TO OURSELVES,
AND COMING HOME TO THE WORLD WE NEVER STOPPED BELONGING TO.
EXPANDING AWARENESS: the paradox of human nature
There is so much beauty and softness that exists in the in-between space, and life becomes so much easier when you stop demanding the answers to be so definite and conclusive. Understanding sometimes means accepting that you can’t understand everything. Paradoxes teach us to rest — the more resistance applied to life, the harder it is.
the earth’s natural internet
Humankind has not woven the web of life; we are but one thread. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
a collection of mini lessons
During this journey, I have had many little life lessons launched at me, some insights I had been grappling with before, but others that I definitely had not yet properly come to terms with until now.
water for the soul
“To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.”
takes 5 seconds to change your life
Throughout every day your mind creates little instinctual pings, impulse messages sent from yourself to yourself, keeping you on track by reminding you of the things you know you should probably be doing. These little prompts are on your side – you want you to succeed.
HOW TO: rest correctly
If only we had an on/off switch to enable complete freedom from thought and temporary disregard for all of life’s stressors. Attempting to just ‘not think’ is almost impossible to achieve when not thinking is the only plan of action.
reconnecting to your innate passion
We receive automatic impulses and signals from our nervous system that bring our awareness to our basic survival needs when they are not met; the drive to satisfy them is innate — there is an inherent force within us that wants to keep us alive.
HOW TO: protect yourself from emotional contagion
We are currently experiencing a global shift, and we are having to learn to take each moment as it comes. We are being confronted with the reality that nothing is set in stone; we are having to zone in to the present to find comfort.
finding comfort in impermanence
The true beauty of life reveals itself when we surrender to the present moment. Peace is the stillness that is found through focusing attention on this beauty. Regardless of how chaotic and constantly changing our environment might seem, it is always possible to access peace.
returning to our roots
Returning to wholeness, to nature, to knowledge, to ourselves and to one another.
anxiety without fear = excitement
I was excited to experience anything; good or bad — whatever came my way was going to be something that I would respond to and work with; an opportunity to learn and to grow.
forest-bathing (shinrin-yoku)
After just 15 minutes of forest-bathing blood pressure drops, stress levels are reduced and concentration and mental clarity improve.
free the sole to free the soul
When your bare feet make contact with the Earth’s surface your body uptakes a natural and subtle energy which could be referred to as vitamin G – G for ground.
get rid of your curtains!
If you struggle with waking up in the morning and the sound of your alarm makes you wish you could end it all, you’re not alone. The sudden jolt of an alarm in combination with sudden bright lights is not exactly what nature had intended for us, and could be causing long term damage to your body.
